Protect Vauxhall jobs

PRESS RELEASE February 18, 2017 THERESA MAY MUST PROTECT VAUXHALL JOBS – SAYS UKIP UKIP leader Paul Nuttall has insisted that Theresa May protects jobs at the Vauxhall plants. The Prime Minister is to meet the head of France’s Peugeot Group which has plans to takeover Vauxhall. “This take-over must not be allowed to go ahead if it means any job losses at all at Ellesmere Port and Luton,” said Mr Nuttall, North West MEP. “And, of course, it is not just jobs at the actual factories that are in potential jeopardy but the thousands involved in its retail and components chain. “I am glad that our government are making the right moves but they have to be meaningful and Theresa May must fight for the future of our workers. “And it is all the more reason for Brexit to go ahead without delays so that any uncertainties are eradicated,” said Mr Nuttall....

Council cash row

Council cash row

Feb 9, 2017

Dear Editor, In reply to Cllr Phil Davies’ remarks about Wirral council budget reductions I appreciate that Government cuts to council budgets are a major concern, in Wirral`s case £132 million. But it is a wake up call for them to cut their cloth accordingly and stop building political empires out of residents money, in this case parking charges ! Governments, both national and local, when there is a shortage of money always look to the motorist as a “cash cow” and tax accordingly. To them motorists are an easy target, but they don’t think it through. It will put even more strains on household budgets and put many local businesses and jobs at risk by driving shoppers to places that offer free parking. Why, at a time when they are proposing draconian parking charges, have they agreed to create a new senior job with a budget of £80,000 being allocated for the position (which I suspect will rise), and why did they have to pass an order preventing councillors from asking questions about it? What ever happened to democracy? It is a clear case for reducing the number of councillors and with it greater savings. Like many people, I believe that we should not be giving over £12 billion of taxpayers hard earned money away in overseas foreign aid, in may cases to corrupt and unaccountable regimes and to countries that don’t need it. Charity begins at home and in our case that means the vast amount of underfunded projects that the UK and local councils have. I would remind Cllr Davies, that despite his disparaging remarks against Wirral UKIP, we have almost four million supporters nationally and in Wirral we have polled more votes than the Lib Dems, Greens and Independents put together in the last three local elections. Our support continues to grow in Wirral as it does elsewhere as voters maintain their distrust of the establishment parties. Yours sincerely Philip Griffiths, North West President,...

Last Saturday was our first official action day for the Stoke-on-Trent Central By-Election. Paul was supported by hundreds of members from up and down the country knocking on doors, delivering leaflets and speaking to people in the city centre.  Paul has had a positive response on the doorstep with former Labour supporters and non-voters alike giving their backing to UKIP. The Labour candidate Gareth Snell is an ardent Remainer and has not been well received in the slightest. Our new campaign headquarters is located in one of the busiest parts of the city outside the shopping centre and is unmissable. This Sunday is our next official action day and, with your help it promises to be our biggest one yet so join Paul and the campaign team from 8am (Canvassing from 10am) at 1 Piccadilly, Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent ST1 1DB and let us lift our leader into the House of Commons where he belongs – just in time to back Article 50, the mechanism for leaving the European Union.  The campaign office can be contacted on 0333 800 6 800. If you are travelling to Stoke by rail, please note that Stoke-on-Trent railway station is roughly a 5 minute taxi journey or 25 minute walk to the centre of Hanley high street. Regular buses also operate the route. If you are travelling by car, please note that the campaign office is in a pedestrianised area however there are a number of parking options available within a 2 minute walk.   With Many Thanks UKIP North...

Protect our NHS

Protect our NHS

Jan 31, 2017

Speaking at a UKIP event in Stoke, Paul Nuttall, UKIP leader, North-West England MEP and candidate in the Stoke Central by election said: “Yes they may well have founded [the NHS] in 1948, but today they have come to resemble an abusive parent. “I refuse to be hectored by a party that oversaw the Mid Staffs scandal. A scandal for which no one in senior management was sacked! “I refuse to be lectured to by a party that allowed MRSA to become commonplace on our wards. “I refuse to be accused of wanting to privatise the NHS by a party that actually did privatise 5% of our health service when they were in power. “I also refuse to take criticism from a party whose two most prominent members of the House of Lords – Winston and Warner – have called for people to be charged to see their GP. “And finally, I refuse to take lessons from a party that has saddled the NHS with a debt of nearly 80 billion pounds through the signing of crazy PFI contracts.  “I now want to make something crystal clear: UKIP has never and will never – under my leadership – enter any election calling for the privatisation of the NHS. Full stop. “I want to repeat this: UKIP will never – under my leadership – enter any election calling for the privatisation of the NHS. Period.” Read more HERE...
