Turkey to join EU?

Turkey to join EU?

Apr 18, 2016

Dear Editor, It would appear that Turkey is about to become a fully-fledged member of the EU without a single one of the 508 million citizens from the 28 member states being asked or allowed a vote on the subject. Despite Welsh and Catalan not being recognised, Turkish is about to be added to the current 24 official and working languages, which apart from adding £25 million to the EU budget would suggest that is all but a done-deal. This Islamic state, which is fast becoming a dictatorship under President Erdogan, has cracked down on freedom of the press and has a very different culture and rule of law than ourselves. Its per capita of GDP is less than ours in the UK and with George Osborne`s increase in the minimum wage is bound to make us a target for those seeking a better life. Later this year Turkish passport holders will be allowed access to the EU, following the recent migrant deal. Once admitted as a full member all of its 77 million population will have access to all 28 members states, including the UK.     This is very alarming to all who believe in democracy and what is even more alarming is that David Cameron is fully supportive and actually encourages them to join the EU. This will also open an easier route for terrorists to enter the EU and the UK. Remember this when casting your vote on our EU membership on June 23rd.     Yours sincerely Philip Griffiths, UKIP North West...

Indoctrination of Children

Indoctrination of Children

Apr 12, 2016

PRESS RELEASE  EU PROPOSED INDOCTRINATION OF CHILDREN ‘OUTRAGEOUS’ Moves to ‘overcome Eurosceptism’ by teaching children a “positive” view of  Europe are “outrageous”, said local MEP Paul Nuttall. “The EU can’t win over the public with the reality of their domineering project so want to indoctrinate innocent children. That is just so wrong but sadly is no surprise,” said Mr Nuttall, UKIP deputy leader. A report is due to be voted on today (Tue) in the European Parliament and Mr Nuttall said that it was expected to be approved.  “Some Europhiles in the UK believe that by being ‘at the table’ in the European Union we actually have some sway over decisions.  “The truth is anything but. British MEPs have never made a meaningful impact on any parliamentary vote, which is actually just rubber stamping the European Commission’s decisions. “The report blames the unpopularity of the EU in many countries on the idea that citizens have ‘insufficient knowledge about the EU mechanisms’. “If they really knew the truth even more citizens would be Eurosceptic. If this farce wasn’t so serious and life changing it would be funny,” said Mr Nuttall. “There seems to be no depths the EU won’t sink to try to convince voters how marvellous it is. Their propaganda machine has no ‘off’ switch and its coffers – funded by taxpayers – are bottomless. The 17 page ”Learning EU in Schools” report calls on member states to “encourage and facilitate high-quality training on EU topics for teachers, other educational staff, youth leaders and trainers” and the creation of a ʻEuro Teacherʼ label award,  to remedy the situation. ‘Textbooks should guarantee a broader coverage of EU-related topics,’ it says. The UK Education Act 1996 requires maintained schools to prevent political indoctrination and ensure balanced treatment of political issues.   “This report shows the EU desire to interfere with the sovereignty of our schools and their intention to press forward to become a centralised state with continual power grabs over matters of parental and national interest,” said Mr Nuttall....

Safer in the EU?

Safer in the EU?

Apr 12, 2016

Dear Editor, The Prime Minster and the Remain group have said that it would be safer if we stay in the EU. Well, due to restrictive new overtime limits, the German Army cannot function properly and have had to pull out of a month long NATO exercise in Norway after just 12 days as they exceeded their allocated time. Further more last year it emerged that less than half of their Air Force’s 66 Tornado aircraft were airworthy. Hardly encouraging support for our PM`s claim and if that`s the state of the armed services of a key EU member state, what of those of the others?    It confirms that his “project fear” campaign is purely “project fiction.”  Yours sincerely Philip Griffiths, North West President,...

EU propaganda slammed

EU propaganda slammed

Apr 7, 2016

April 7, 2016 PRESS RELEASE  ANGER OVER GOVERNMENT SPENDING ON PRO-EU PROPAGANDA Local MEP Paul Nuttall has described spending almost £10 million on pro-EU propaganda for every household in the country as ”an affront to the democratic process.” Leaflets arguing for Britain to remain in the EU published by the government are due to land on doorsteps in the North West by next week. “This is not only an affront to the democratic process, it’s a disgrace,” said Mr Nuttall, UKIP deputy leader. “Taxpayers money is blatantly being used by the government to finance this propaganda blitz but meanwhile the campaign for Brexit is not allowed to spend such a vast sum.  “How unfair is that and alien to the British sense of fair play? “It is also completely in keeping with EU tactics which not only try to fool people into believing it it is good for us but use our own money to bludgeon us about the head with their misinformation,” said Mr Nuttall. “Trying to justify it by saying that independent polling indicates 85% of voters want more information to make a decision before the June 23 referendum is disingenuous. People do want more information but they want to know the case for both sides and not just one,” he added....
