Borderless Britain

Borderless Britain

Aug 28, 2015

By Steven Woolfe MEP Today’s ONS immigration figures stating net migration into the UK of 330,000 is astounding. This is the combined populations of York and Oxford. Add the estimated 1million illegal and undocumented migrants and, what is now clear, is that we have Borderless Britain.  The UK now hosts 8million people born outside of the UK, a staggering 12.5% of the UK population and rising. This is the figure we are being told. We have no real way of knowing how many people are here, but I believe the numbers are actually higher. Why, because the ONS figures are based on passenger service questionnaires. The ONS has been wrong on immigration for sometime.  It estimates long term net migration at 141000. As for illegal migration its anyones guess, but what we can see are thousands of people attempting daily to get into our country from Calais often paying large sums to gangsters and criminals.  What is certain is that our public services can barely cope. Open door immigration is a disaster

EU president cannot admit it when he has got it wrong The EU Commission President’s comment that borders should remain open despite an unprecedented refugee crises show he just cannot admit when the EU has got it wrong, says local UKIP MEP Paul Nuttall. Jean-Claude Juncker, President of the EU Commission hailed the Schengen Agreement – which guarantees open borders between signatories – as a ‘great achievement’. Despite a huge increase in desperate refugees from war-torn Africa and the Middle East travelling through Europe Mr Juncker hit out at nations seeking firmer border controls. He said: “What worries me is to hear politicians from Left to Right nourishing a populism that brings only anger and not solutions. “Hate speech and rash statements that threaten one of our very greatest achievements – the Schengen area and the absence of internal borders: that is not Europe.” Responding to the comments, Deputy Leader of UKIP, Paul Nuttall said: “This guy just cannot admit what an increasing number of countries are now seeing, that open door immigration is a disaster, and cannot continue. “It is not hate speech to say that your country cannot afford to look after everyone who wants to come here. “It is not populism to be concerned that your health service or education system is buckling under the weight of uncontrolled immigration and firmer controls need to be considered. “Juncker’s comments shows that for him the EU is not about practicality and improvement for the lives of its citizens, it is an irrational ideology for him, that he will pursue regardless of the chaos it might cause. “Almost 50,000 migrants arrived in Greece in July alone, all headed for countries like Britain, that have generous benefits. “For Juncker to ignore the problem and tell everyone to carry on regardless is the most blatant sign he has no regard for what’s best for the citizens of the EU I have seen for a long time.” ends...

Steven Woolfe comments on Government announcement that illegally working immigrants will be sent to jail Commenting on the Government announcement that migrants working illegally face being sent to jail, UKIP Migration Spokesman Steven Woolfe MEP said: “This must be the week that the net migration numbers come out since this announcement has to be one of the most stupid ideas yet from a Government utterly bereft of a clue on how to deal with the migration crisis. It’s an idea dreamed up the Conservative Party’s PR department to camouflage Thursday’s ONS immigration statistics which will show that yet gain the government has lost control of Britain’s borders. “Sending illegally working immigrants to gaol will cost a fortune, put huge pressure on the prison system, add treacle to the already gummed up courts system with the possibility of remand and appeals stretching into a Human Rights Act horizon and keep the immigrants on our shores. Instead the Government should deport them. If they are illegally working they have broken the law. It’s that simple. “But this Government doesn’t do simple. It does do political deceit on an industrial scale. Until the Prime Minister faces up to the reality that free movement of people within the European Union is a major cause of peoples’ discontent over the number of people arriving in the UK and the way that illegal immigrants are being dealt with it can never come up with sensible solutions. The UK needs to leave the EU as soon as possible.” Follow Steven Woolfe MEP on Twitter: https://twitter.com/Steven_Woolfe Visit Steven’s...
