Anger over Chilcot

Anger over Chilcot

Jan 22, 2015

ANGER OVER CHILCOT REPORT DELAY News that the Chilcot report will not be published until after the General Election smacks of the establishment protecting itself, said UKIP’s deputy leader, Paul Nuttall MEP. “Heaven forbid the public should be able to base their voting decisions on facts not spin. “The delay until after the election is purely designed to protect the establishment parties that decided to misled the public and take the country to war on a false premise. “It’s findings will no doubt damage the establishment, and the Westminster bubble fears people may decide to vote for the newer parties that opposed the whole debacle.” Mr Nuttall, local MEP, added, “This war put the country at risk, and this delay shows that although they don’t care about protecting the public, they will pull out all the stops to protect themselves.” The Chilcot Inquiry was commissioned in 2009 to establish the facts surrounding Britain’s invasion of Iraq in 2003, and concluded in 2011 having interviewed over 100 people including the former British Prime Minister Tony Blair. An online petition urging the Government to release the Chilcot Report before the general election has been launched by UKIP and Mr Nuttall is urging people to sign it. Labour Tuition fees plan under fire

Labour Tuition fees plan under fire

Jan 21, 2015

LABOUR TUITION FEES PLAN UNDER FIRE Talk of Labour plans to limit its proposed £6,000 cap on tuition fees to ‘useful’ STEM subjects shows they are ‘still behind the game’, said UKIP deputy leader Paul Nuttall. “Our policy is remove the young people who have shown ability from having to pay tuition fees at all if they take a degree course in the sciences, technology, maths or medicine. “Labour’s proposal goes nowhere near as far and shows that they really aren’t in touch with the financial reality of many people’s lives. “I have always been opposed to tuition fees and as I predicted they have saddled our bright young people with a debt that many will never be able to repay,” said Mr Nuttall, party Education spokesman. “These fees also hit students from poorer backgrounds the hardest, the very people that Labour purports to represent. “UKIP would scrap Labour’s nonsensical idea of sending 50% of 18-year-olds to university and introduce grants being means tested where family income exceeds £80,000,” he said....

Vince Cable: Staggeringly arrogant

Vince Cable: Staggeringly arrogant

Jan 21, 2015

UKIP deputy leader calls Vince Cable “staggeringly arrogant” UKIP deputy leader Paul Nuttall today accused Vince Cable of being “staggeringly arrogant” after the Business Secretary told senior EU officials the Conservative promise to hold a referendum on EU membership is “actually dangerous.” Mr Nuttall, North West MEP, said, “If it is Cable’s opinion that giving the British people their say on one of the most important political questions is dangerous, then he has some cheek referring to himself as a Liberal ‘Democrat’.” “It displays a staggering level of arrogance that Cable believes the British public should not be trusted to decide who governs their own country. “UKIP wholeheartedly believes that the European question should be settled in a full, free and fair referendum like any true democrat would argue. “Cable’s position reveals the true opinion of the LibLabCon on the European question and by saying such derogatory statements about the British public it is only persuading more people that UKIP is the radical, viable and practical way to get our country back,” he said....
