Police Mission “Sorry State of Affairs”

Police Mission “Sorry State of Affairs”

Dec 17, 2013

December 16, 2013 POLICE MISSION ‘SORRY STATE OF AFFAIRS’ UKIP Deputy Leader Paul Nuttall has claimed that a British Police mission, which has seen officers fly to Romania to warn residents not to come here and commit crime, highlights a “sorry state of affairs”. “This ‘police mission’ beggars belief and is a desperate measure motivated by a very real fear about the consequences of opening up our border to Romania on January 1st. It amounts to a massive waste of time and money – the criminals will come any way. “That our police service is being used in this way last minute before the borders open, shows once again the lack of political leadership from this government. Frankly the only real solution is, and has always been, to take back control of our borders by leaving the EU,” said Mr Nuttall, North West MEP. “Sending our police over to Romania to ask the people to not come and commit crime after we open our borders on January 1st demonstrates quite clearly the sorry state of affairs we find ourselves in,” he...

NICE IV guidance welcomed

NICE IV guidance welcomed

Dec 14, 2013

Dear Editor, I am not usually a fan of NICE decisions, as I have made clear in the past, but, for once, I support new guidelines they have issued. This is in relation to guidance to ensure hospital patients receive the correct intravenous fluids. That such a move is needed is both depressing and alarming but it follows statistics suggesting that about nine patients a week die  because of a lack of training in the use of these IV drips. Too little or too much fluid can lead to fatal complications and the numbers affected is a national disgrace. NICE is suggesting an ‘IV champion’ be installed in every hospital to ensure medics are better trained. It would appear that cannot come soon enough and I earnestly hope this NICE direction is obeyed as rigorously as their penny pinching cancer drug rationing is followed. Yours faithfully   Paul...

Anti-UKIP Satire Show Under Fire

Anti-UKIP Satire Show Under Fire

Dec 14, 2013

December 13, 2013 ANTI-UKIP SATIRE SHOW UNDER FIRE The Arts Council has come under fire for wasting public money on a political satire show due to start touring in the North West. “The Stop UKIP Tour” show in Manchester by Jonny and the Baptists is being indirectly supported by the Arts Council and a stinging rebuke has been sent by local MEP and deputy party leader Paul Nuttall. “Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and UKIP is very much the party of free speech but I think it is wrong that taxpayers money is being used to back this production,” explained Mr Nuttall. “It does, of course, show just how much left wing supporters are getting extremely worried about the growing success of UKIP. We wouldn’t be under attack from these musical comedians unless we were proving a threat to the established order. “This blatantly party political rubbish is being staged to coincide with the run-up to the Euro elections in May and I am appalled that one of the venues is the much lauded Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester. I would have hoped they had higher standards than giving this show house room. “I have written to the Arts Council, which supports the Royal Exchange, and also the theatre expressing my views about this distasteful satire,” said Mr...

Government Steal UKIP Policy Again

Government Steal UKIP Policy Again

Dec 11, 2013

Dec 10  Dear Editor, They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so I see the coalition government is flattering us. A consultation document is calling for residents to be able to sign petitions to force council debates and votes on parking policies. It is existing UKIP policy to have local referenda on important issues, which would include not just parking but any other important local matter. We are the only political party truly in touch with the electorate, as shown by our policies, which explains why we are the fastest growing in the country. Yours faithfully Cllr Louise Bours,  UKIP MEP...
