Rat Attack Needed in Wigan

Rat Attack Needed in Wigan

Nov 26, 2013

Nov 26 Dear Editor, With the rise of so called ‘mutant rats’ – rodents that have become increasingly difficult to eradicate due to increased poison resistance – perhaps it is time that Wigan Council began looking at whether more preventative action could be taken in the form of reintroducing weekly black-bin collections. Before the weekly bin collections were scrapped, I warned that the new collection cycle would increase the problems associated with pests such as rats as rubbish is left to accumulate and fester outside for much longer. Rats and mice are incredibly hardy creatures that quickly adapt to poisons. The best remedy for pest problems is of course prevention. No amount of poison or innovative traps will make any meaningful or long lasting difference as the conditions favourable to rats persist. When will Wigan council act on pest control and scrap fortnightly bin collections for good? Yours faithfully   Paul...

HS2 White Elephant Will Waste Billions

HS2 White Elephant Will Waste Billions

Nov 26, 2013

Nov 26  Dear Editor,  The government is determined to railroad us into the HS2 white elephant which will desecrate the countryside, destroy homes and lives and waste untold billions. So it is only right that a legal challenge is being mounted in the wake of publication of a 50,000-page dossier with just 60 days to study it. Of course they really don’t want people to read and understand. Consultation is a joke term which inevitably means whoever’s doing the consultation will carry on regardless. The hallmark of this government is not listening to the people and HS2 is another example of that. We don’t want it, we don’t need it and we can’t afford it. It is an issue that I feel very strongly about and I will continue to hold and attend protest meetings up and down the country.   Yours faithfully   Paul...

UKIP Big Guns Hit Crewe for Action Day

Nov 26, 2013

UKIP BIG GUNS HIT CREWE AND NANTWICH FOR ACTION DAY   UKIP deputy leader Paul Nuttall joined 50 UKIP activists from all over the North West and Staffordshire for an Action Day in Crewe on Saturday.   The event, organised by UKIP Cheshire chairman, Cllr Richard Lee,  involved holding two street stalls, one in Crewe and one in Nantwich and a leafletting campaign.   Teams of activists hand delivered 20,000 + leaflets, across the constituency, to highlight the danger of the government’s current ‘Open Door’ Immigration Policy that will be flung wide open again on Jan 1st to Romania and Bulgaria.   Other leaflets promoted a public meeting to be held in Crewe about the impact of HS2 on the town. This event be addressed by Paul Nuttall, the party’s North West MEP, on the12th December, at The Coppenhall Working Men’s Club in North Road.   Cllr. Richard Lee, who is also Chairman of the local Crewe and Nantwich Branch said. ” As UKIP are currently the only credible opposition to Labour in Crewe, those who thought that we were just a ‘flash in the pan’, can think again. We are here to stay, and the turnout at the weekend demonstrated that.   “Here in Crewe and Nantwich we have a vibrant and fast growing branch, and across Cheshire UKIP membership is amongst the fastest growing in the UK.   “People are sick and tired of the same old excuses being doled out again and again by the political classes, and the scales are gradually dropping from their eyes. Many are turning to UKIP for common sense policies and as the only hope they have for returning our laws from Brussels and back to self-governance.”   Those joining Cllr. Lee on the day included MEP candidates Cllr. Louise Bours, Steven Woolfe, Diane James and Cllrs Lee Slaughter and Stuart...

Government’s Weak Approach on Immigration Exposed

Government’s Weak Approach on Immigration Exposed

Nov 25, 2013

November 25, 2013 PRESS RELEASE  Government’s weak approach on immigration exposed The revelation that not a single work permit for Bulgarian immigrants has been rejected since 2007 shows how the Coalition government’s rhetoric on immigration is not matched by reality, says local MEP Paul Nuttall. “This government has been spinning the line that it is tougher than Labour on immigration. This proves otherwise. “The fact that we have one million young people out of work with net immigration still running at above 170,000 people per annum is ludicrous,” said Mr Nuttall, UKIP Deputy Leader, commenting on remarks by Bulgaria’s ambassador, Konstantin Dimitrov. “The government need to be restricting migration from countries like Bulgaria but instead they are opening the doors completely next year. It is utterly stupid and...
